Hello & Welcome to The Fade.

I’m Cam Avery, a career musician who in my youth aspired to become a professional golfer. I’ve been the bassist in Tame Impala for over 10 years as well as having my own artist project and collaborating with a number of artists, notably Arctic Monkeys and Alexandra Savior.

I didn’t play golf for almost 10 years in the early days of my music career but once brought back to the game by a close friend in 2018, I’ve found it to be a most grounding pillar in my life.

Here I’ll explore ideas & start conversations which begin with golf but will expand beyond the game with the hopes we might connect a few dots and study the motivations and applications of a virtuous pursuit in any field. 

I’ll also be interviewing professionals and thought leaders spanning the worlds of music, sports, health, business, philosophy and everything in between.
